Balance and boundaries
When you're passionate about sustainability and climate action, it can sometimes be all consuming. Once you become aware of the depths of the challenge and the enormous opportunities to change things for the better, you want to make it happen NOW. There is pressure to keep up with all the latest thinking, ideas and solutions, which – thankfully these days – are coming thick and fast.
Over the last few months we have seen the level of interest and engagement on sustainability increase, spurred in part by calls for a green recovery post-COVID, but also by organisations and the people leading and working in them wanting to know more so they can do more. At
SustainabilityWorks we have been developing online training courses for clients to help meet this need, and we’re excited at the ripple effect that this will have in empowering potentially thousands of people to take action.
Earlier this week, we hosted a webinar on sustainability strategy for those who are keen to know how to make sustainability a core part of their business. When talking about what sustainability means we discussed balance and boundaries – the need to balance social, environmental and economic considerations and the need to operate our businesses and our society within planetary boundaries.
Reflecting on this, the concept applies just as much to us as individuals – we need to stay balanced and we need to maintain boundaries or we, like the planet, will overheat and burn out. That’s why the SW team is taking some much-needed time out during August to rest and recuperate and breathe! Our newsletter is also having a holiday next month, but we’ll be back fresh and raring to go in September as we hope you will be too.
Till then….enjoy the bank holiday weekend and take care.
